/ TECHNOLOGY
The electrode geometry can be tuned for each application: line width, metal thickness, cell size, substrate, metal type and final electrode layout.

This makes the platform suitable for transparent heaters, antennas, EMI shielding, flexible electronics, sensors and optoelectronic devices.
Self-organized template for transparent PVD metal mesh
At the core of Moonrise is a water-soluble active template green edition that forms a quasi-periodic cracked network during controlled drying. After activation, the template defines the geometry of a transparent metal mesh deposited by thermal evaporation or magnetron sputtering.

Process flow

Template coating - a water-soluble template material is coated on PET, glass or another target substrate using slot-die coating.

Controlled crack formation - controlled drying creates a random micromesh pattern that defines the future conductive network.

Template activation - humidity and rapid drying create physical separation between metal at the bottom of the cracks and metal on the template sidewalls.

PVD metal deposition - Ag, Al, Cu or another metal is deposited by thermal evaporation or magnetron sputtering.

Water-based lift-off - the template is removed with water; the removed metal is captured for recovery and reuse.

Laser patterning - fiber-laser processing creates the final electrode topology, isolation zones, contact pads and custom layouts.
/ MANUFACTURING
Roll-to-roll-ready process built on standard industrial equipment
Moonrise is designed for industrial transfer. The process uses familiar manufacturing operations rather than custom laboratory-only tooling: coating, drying, PVD deposition, water treatment, metal recovery, laser patterning and web handling.
The standard equipment stack includes slot-die coating, thermal evaporation or magnetron sputtering, water-based lift-off, filtration and recovery modules, fiber-laser patterning and roll-to-roll web handling. This supports scale-up, partner-side integration and fast adaptation to existing production environments.
The platform can be configured around different cost-performance targets. Silver versions are suited for premium low-resistance applications; aluminium versions support cost-driven transparent electrodes; copper versions provide a path for specialized conductive structures with protective or barrier layers.
